Where It Began
When she looks back at her career, she cannot point to one big moment and say, “That’s when everything changed.”
There was no dramatic breakthrough. No day when she walked into the office and felt completely certain she belonged. Instead, her growth happened slowly. Work continued. Responsibilities increased. Time passed. And somewhere along the way, she began to find her place.
For many women, professional growth carries layers that are rarely visible from the outside.

Learning the Room
In the beginning, she observed more than she spoke. Quietly learning how things moved and who moved them. She noticed who could speak directly without being questioned. She noticed who had to explain themselves twice and how the same tone sounded different depending on who used it.
These observations stayed with her.
As a result, she became careful, not fearful, but aware. She paid attention to detail. She reads emails twice before sending them. She made sure her work was solid. She understood that sometimes a small mistake could stay in people’s minds longer than it should. So she chose consistency. Over time, her work spoke for her.
Finding Her Balance
Gradually, she also learned how to manage her presence. She remained approachable, but she also learned where to draw a line. She stayed collaborative, but she stopped taking on more emotional responsibility than necessary.
In many workplaces, women often find themselves calming tensions, supporting colleagues, and handling conversations that are not officially part of their job. She did this too. It was rarely acknowledged, but it was real work.
At the same time, performance could not drop. Deadlines had to be met. Targets had to be achieved. Reviews had to reflect results.
There were days when she replayed meetings in her mind, wondering if she had spoken too strongly or not strongly enough. She questioned whether she was putting in extra effort just to avoid doubt.

The Quiet Change
However, something was changing.
Slowly, she stopped editing herself mid-sentence. She stopped softening every opinion. She allowed her words to stand. She began to trust her judgement without waiting for approval.
There was no formal moment of change. It happened quietly.
One meeting where she held her ground.
One decision she made confidently.
One boundary she set and maintained.
These were not dramatic events. But they added up.
Over time, people began to respond differently. Her presence carried more weight. The foundation had strengthened.

For many women, professional life grows in this way. Not through a single breakthrough, but through steady effort, learning, adjusting, correcting, and continuing.

Hands That Shape the Foundation
Yet the story of women at work does not belong to one kind of workplace.
Across Italia Group’s manufacturing facilities, hundreds of women contribute to the organisation in ways that are just as foundational. Many of them stepped into the workforce early in life, often balancing the responsibilities at home, family, and motherhood alongside their professional roles. For them, employment is more than just work, it is about independence, dignity, and the ability to support their households.
At Italia, these women are offered the chance to grow their capabilities along with employment opportunities. Through regular training and skill development, they learn advanced techniques in glass mosaic manufacturing and become familiar with evolving technologies on the production floor. Over time, their confidence grows alongside their craft.
Their journeys may look different from those in offices and meeting rooms, but they are built on the same foundation, discipline, resilience, and determination to create better futures for themselves and their families.
Piece by piece, they shape their own paths as well.

Designing Better Spaces
At the same time, this reflection raises an important question. If women are constantly adjusting, calibrating, and proving themselves, then what kind of workplaces are we building?
Effort will always be part of growth. But unnecessary friction does not have to be.
A supportive environment ensures that expectations are fair and that authority is accepted without repeated justification. It creates space where talent can focus on performance rather than self-monitoring.
When that happens, energy once spent on being careful can be redirected toward innovation. Growth feels steady rather than cautious. Confidence feels natural rather than hard-earned.
Moving Forward
This International Women’s Day, we recognise the quiet construction behind her story, the discipline, awareness, and persistence that often go unnoticed.
The journeys women build here take shape slowly, through attention, consistency, and quiet determination.
And we remain committed to building workplaces where that journey feels steadier.
Intentional.
Precise.
Unapologetic.
And entirely her own.
